8-0 Swallowtail

Here is the latest alaia.  8-0 swallow tail in redwood, 1" thick, 17.5 wide.  (Sorry about the date...the camera is broken!)

Two New Shapes

Redwood, 8-0 swallow tail destined for a wall and a 7-0 tear drop.

Top Skins

I ended up planking the top in sections.  This has the advantage of being able to reglue edges that originally did not stick, but the eccentric clamping can also induce some twist into the board.  Yeah, I got a little twist in the tail, but fortunately, the bottom plank is thick enought to thin and balance things. out.  Stoked!

6-1 Parabola???

I like this shape, but don't really know why it is called a parabolic. Nice redwood stringer and tail. Too bad I won't get to ride this one.

Monday's Frame

Tail will taper to a 7" square tail
Ready to start rough shaping the rails, nose and tial in preparation for the top. Still need to add full length stringers to the top of the ribs

Slightly pointy nose

Does not look like much rocker but 3.5/2.5 will work just fine

New Beginnings

Very exciting! Nothing like a pile of wood to play with. 5/32" redwood shims that will become a 9 oh performance woody.
